How to (Almost) Spread Yourself too Thin

This summer is going to be an exciting one. I’m ready for warm weather, enjoying the sunshine and (hopefully) going swimming, y’know, typical summer fun activities. Summer is my favorite season, but I’ll always say that spring is my favorite time of year. The flowers blooming and seeing all the trees and bushes wake up from a cold, snowy winter is so nice. Also,  cherry blossoms bloom around this time of year, and it’s a goal of mine to go back to Washington D.C. to view the cherry blossoms.

The side hustle is real right now. I have many things to share with you. Let’s start at the beginning:

First off, this coming weekend, I will be tabling at SPACE, an indie comics expo here in Cbus. Like always, I will be selling lovely prints and stickers, some classic goodies and some new to share. I have copies of chapter 1 and 2 of “Jazz” as well, so if you need your magical girl kick, come by my table! It’s free admission for the whole weekend, so feel free to peruse by booth and other talented local artists. It’ll be my second showing at SPACE, and I hope I can continue tabling there every year from now on! It’s always a good time meeting new faces as well as familiar ones there.

Second off, my Etsy shop, Alla’s Art Store, is temporarily closed for renovations. I decided that it needed a new, fresh look, and I have been hard at work taking nice photos of my products. It’s been a fun experience that has brought my boyfriend and I to the park to take nice photos. It’s been great setting up props and making sure the lighting is just right. I’m lucky to have a good phone to take pictures; that always comes in handy, since buying a DSLR camera sounds daunting right now. I didn’t major in Photography in school, but I know a thing or two about taking a nice photo, that’s for sure.

Also, expect some brand new work in the shop as well! I have ideas for print collections; themed pieces to go with the seasons, or whatever catches my fancy that day. I’m excited to unveil the new and improved Alla’s Art Store this summer, so be on the lookout for a store opening announcement soon, maybe even an exclusive discount for readers of Alla’s Art Story readers!

Third off, I’ve decided to make the plunge and create a Patreon! It seemed like the right time to reopen my account and make a page because of the upcoming changes to the platform. I’m still trying to get the hang of the website, but right now, I have a single tier lovingly called “Baby Peach”. For just ten bucks, I will create a super cute, peachy themed wallpaper for your smartphone. Custom made for each person, so each one will be unique! If that’s something you’d be interested in, I’ll leave a link so you can check it out.

As of now, I will stick with one tier. Patreon seems like the type of thing you build up slowly, so that’s what I’m going with. In the future, I would like to offer up some more exclusive stuff as people start gaining interest in it.

That’s about all I have to talk about today! I’ve been working hard, as well as resting easy. My day job has us working a lot of tasks in short periods of time, so I usually come home tired, but manage to get a thing or two done for me. One thing being this blog post. I would like to try posting a blog post once a week, but it may take some time to build up to that. For now, please enjoy my sporadic posts!

Be on the lookout for Alla’s April Additions soon! And also, if you are interested in anything I’ve talked about in this post, be sure to look for links below. I love sharing what I’ve got going on. Catch you all later!
